Robinson Dealership Update - JANUARY 2006
|
|
Many of you are still asking WHY were we cancelled as an authorized Harley-Davidson dealership?
So WHY ,after 30 years, was our well-established Harley-Davidson dealership and business taken from us by Deeleys and re-distributed to another dealer or dealers? The following is our understanding of Deeleys reasons;
* That Robinson's ever increasing sales volumes were hurting the other dealers.
* That people who were coming from the Windsor-Essex County to do business with Robinson's were the LEGITIMATE CUSTOMERS of another dealer.
* That we were not a sustainable dealer.
* That many of our past sales were outside "our territory" (this territory was just given to us at the same meeting they cancelled us)
Any reasons we were given made no sense at all to us. We have never defaulted on our obligations to Deeley or the Harley-Davidson brand. We have always had highly rated reviews in sales and service.

Robinson Dealership Update - November 22, 2005
|
|
|
December 31, 2005 is fast approaching when we will be cancelled as an authorized Harley-Davidson dealership. We would like to remind everyone that if they have any FACTORY WARRANTY ISSUES,(within the 2 year factory warranty period) get them into us as soon as possible. Deeleys won't allow us to do any warranty work after that. However, WE CAN ALWAYS DO THE EXTENDED WARRANTY/SERVICE PROGRAM WARRANTY WORK, because it is a THIRD PARTY WARRANTY.

We would like to reply to a few of the continual comments, or rumours you may have heard, about why our Harley dealership is potentially being cancelled;
- We were not asked to build a bigger shop,
* We have always paid our invoices and bills,
* We were not asked to move and said no,
* We were not cancelled because of poor bike sales. ( Our new Harley bike sales were continually increasing every year . )

Robinson Dealership Update - September 29, 2005
|

We were planning to challenge our pending cancellation as an authorized Harley dealer, by Deeley Harley-Davidson Canada, at the Federal Competition Tribunal hearing in Ottawa this October 2005. For reasons including the fact that we could have to pay Deeley Harley-Davidson Canada's legal costs (which could have been approx $300,000)if we lost our appeal to save our Authorized Harley Dealership, we have decided not to pursue the Competition Tribunal hearing.
As a result of this decision we did negotiate on some terms with Deeley Harley-Davidson Canada. We will no longer be an authorized Harley-Davidson dealer under Deeley Harley-Davidson Canada as of December 31, 2005.
On October 4, 2005 we will be arguing at the Competition tribunal against Deeleys in regards to the legal costs that we and Deeleys have incurred so far.
This was not an easy decision to make as we feel a strong loyalty to all of you who have supported our family business as an authorized Harley dealership. We also feel a deep loyalty to the Harley-Davidson brand that we have sold here since the 1960's. Even though we will be cut off from Deeley Harley-Davidson Canada, We want to confirm that will be staying in business to serve you as best possible.
We will continue to find Harley Bikes, Parts and Accessories, and provide all the same service that we have in the past, to the best of our ability.
Keep posted to this section for further updates. Thanks for your past and future support.
